UK Education Preparation Courses
Focused preparation for 11+, 13+, 16+ and ISEB assessments, planned around your child and the schools they are applying to.
Preparation with a purpose
Admissions preparation works best when it starts from a clear understanding of what the child is preparing for and why. Different schools use different assessments, and children begin from different starting points, so we avoid a one-size-fits-all programme.
Diagnose before teaching
We first identify the likely assessment requirements and the child's current strengths and gaps. This keeps preparation proportionate and focused.
Academic preparation
Support may include English, mathematics, reasoning or school-specific requirements for 11+, 13+, 16+ and ISEB entry. Alongside knowledge, we develop technique: reading questions carefully, managing time, showing working, checking answers and staying composed when a problem is unfamiliar.
Thinking, not just practising
Highly selective schools often reward pupils who can apply knowledge rather than simply reproduce it. Preparation therefore includes unfamiliar problems, explanation, reasoning and intellectual flexibility.
Confidence without complacency
Children perform better when they know what to expect, but over-preparation creates fatigue and anxiety. We make the process familiar enough to reduce stress while keeping the child engaged and curious.
Targeted academic support
Good tutoring has a clear purpose: closing a gap, rebuilding confidence or stretching an able pupil. Our aim is not to keep a pupil in tutoring indefinitely, but to help them succeed without it.
Connected to the wider strategy
Preparation is never the whole admissions process. It sits alongside school choice, timing, interviews, current-school performance and the child's broader development.
